Loans

Two kinds of loan, two different routes. Read the rules here, then log in to check where you stand.

Normal Loan

For planned needs

The Normal Loan is the SACCO's main credit facility — for school fees, land, business, home improvement and other planned commitments.

The application form is issued only to members who meet the lending rules. The system reads your loan record and decides before a form is ever produced, which keeps the process fair and spares you filling in paperwork that could not be approved.

You qualify if either applies

  • You have no loan outstanding. You have fully cleared your previous loans, or have not borrowed before.
  • You are close to finishing — a top-up. You have been servicing your current loan and 3 months or less remain before it is fully cleared.

You do not qualify yet if

  • More than 3 months remain on your current loan. The portal tells you the month you are expected to qualify.
  • Repayments on your current loan have stopped being recorded.
  • You already have an application waiting for a decision.

Submitted online. Once you have completed and signed the form — with your guarantors' signatures — you upload it in the portal. It reaches the management team automatically, and you keep a copy and a reference number.

Emergency Loan

For the unexpected

Emergencies do not wait for a loan to be cleared. The Emergency Loan form is therefore available to every member, whatever your current loan status.

It works differently from the Normal Loan in one important way: it is not granted automatically. After completing the form you deliver it to the Head Office in person, where management will hear the circumstances and decide whether the emergency qualifies and what can be advanced.

Please note: Emergency Loan applications are only accepted in person at the Head Office, so that management can discuss the situation with you directly. Approval is at management's discretion.

Official forms sold separately: Physical loan application forms are sold separately and issued over the counter at the SACCO Head Office.

The exact amount you can borrow also depends on your savings and your record with the SACCO. Log in to the portal for a figure specific to you.

Questions

Common questions

Where can I obtain the loan application form?

Official physical loan application forms are sold separately and issued at the SACCO Head Office counter. Once obtained, complete all details and guarantor endorsements before submitting to the committee for processing.

What is a top-up?

A top-up is a new Normal Loan taken while an existing one is nearly finished. Management allows it once you have been servicing your loan and 3 months or less remain before it is fully cleared, so you do not have to wait for the very last instalment before borrowing again.

Can I apply for an Emergency Loan if I already owe money?

Yes. The Emergency Loan form is available to every member regardless of loan status. Whether it is approved is a separate decision taken by management after hearing your circumstances at the Head Office.

How do I know my application was received?

When you upload a completed Normal Loan form the portal gives you a reference number and shows the submission in your history, where you can download your own copy at any time. The application is forwarded to the management team at the same moment.

Do I need guarantors?

The Normal Loan form has a guarantors section that must be completed and signed. For Emergency Loans, management will tell you whether guarantors are required for your particular case.

What if my details on the form are wrong?

The form is filled in from your member record. If anything is out of date, update it under My Profile in the portal or contact the office, then download a fresh form.
